Very rarely I peruse the astrological predictions in the papers. Peter Vidal's annual predictions used to charm me, mainly due to the creative expressions he used in his 'what the stars foretell'.
Today I got up a bit late, wearing off my nightly potion, off a spirited get-together last evening. My wife woke me up by scruffing my mane gently, and quickly vanished out of sight. When I came to the kitchen service window to pick up my morning cuppa, first thing I noticed was a box of Darwad pedas. Steaming coffee came into view followed by 'many happy returns, bully!'
Now, dont get it wrong. We Taurians are very gentle creatures, however much stubborn, we may appear to be . But, a Sagittarian wife is too clever, and knows how to maneuver a Taurian husband, to make him hang about her skirt (saree) tails! If you ask the Taurian male where he'd like to go for dinner that night, most likely, his response will be, "Any place of your choice." He is not much of a decision maker and, honestly, doesn't prefer to wear the pants in a love relationship!
But then, Girija can recite the 'Sun Signs' by Linda Goodman word for word forwards, and the same backwards too! On top of which, she has done tremendous research on moon signs, ascendents, transits, aspects and so many other indecipherable (for me) chapters in the science (!) of Astrology. No wonder, I allow all future decisions (like booking a dinner table) to her. This leaves the bull with its own cozy space.
So, it's not really true that a Taurian is a hardened tyrant, and that he wants to have his way always. His weakness is his possesiveness. He will go to any extent to protect his harem.
Ooops! Did I say harem? Oh! Not exactly. A Taurian likes to play to the gallery (and sometimes goes overboard), and to collect as many (young) admirers (mainly females) as possible, whom he will always refer to as 'friends'. But look closely. It's actually Plan 'B' - a pool of dates, which he can fall back on at times of exigency! During this process, a Taurian, waits, watches and evaluates - like the strategist that he is. As long as his love is reciprocated, he doesn't wander. That way Taurians are very dependable. But, if he gets even the slightest hint of lesser admiration, he may stray off the pasture, and begin socialising behind the barn with those younger bovines : ))
Well! It's very flattering to imagine such things about me, he he : )) I had always been a 'ladies man'. Mind you, not a 'lady killer'.
In family get-togethers, like in Rotary club dinners or Association annual nights, ladies never get a chance to mingle with menfolk. Because, men will be eager to nurse their drinks than their female partners. The ladies are left to themselves isolated in a corner, and to their gossips about sarees, jewels and other females. So, it would be a welcome break for them if a sober (as he perceives himself to be) gentleman walks in and regales (!) them with his witty (!) conversation. In such parties, I usually nurse a single glass filled amply with water, and could talk to the ladies without any inhibition as though I am one of their species. But then, I am usually watchful of the portentous messages delivered by the looks given by Girija.
There was a time in my very young days, that I used to shun the sight of girls. Not because, I hated them. But because, I was tormented by their attraction : )) I just couldn't work up the guts to look them in their eyes, and deliver a full sentence cogently! My uncle would purposely bring a girl in front of me, and make me shake her hands. I would quickly shake hands and wriggle away as if my hands were on fire. My uncle would scoff at me "ennada! patthikuccha?"
I think I got over this debility at around the third year in college. Peer pressure was such that you have to have a girl friend, to maintain a status symbol, that too when you are the Fine-arts secretary of the Gymkhana! The Taurian instincts, guided by the ruling Venus, stood me in good stead. Frankly, even today, I (and of course Girija too) maintain contacts with many of my old female friends. One thing, I had not kept any relationship as a secret from my wife - which, is not like a Taurian : )) Perhaps the credit goes to my Sagittarian wife, who has ever kept me immersed in her love - defying the astrological rule that a Taurus-Sagittarius marriage as unworkable. We are bonded since 31 years, and are rediscovering our affection everyday.
Now, read this 'prediction' for me from an e-zine, and see if it makes any sense : ))
"This week's New Moon combines the matters of your personal power in the world, your secret fears or self-sabotaging agendas, and your willingness (or unwillingness) to be there for those who matter to you, and brings them all to an undeniable crescendo. This ongoing set of circumstances has been begging your attention for a long time, as certain long term stalemates come up for review and clearing. You may think that these different areas of your life are unrelated, but they are not. You are the common denominator and therefore the experiences you're having in each of these departments are all the expression of the way you feel about you. Fear has a way of blocking you from getting to the people or places you most want to connect with. There is only one answer: Love yourself more."
I think, if you have the gift of the gab, one can mint money in astrology! Anyway, not for a Taurian : ))

Thank you for the visit and the comment sir.. Its always best when the work you do speaks for itself. Endorsement is an established trend but somehow I do not feel comfortable doing it. But of late I have realised that without plugging your work goes nowhere. If that is the law of the jungle then the leo is quite up to the task.

Hi Sam!
Thanks buddy, for an excellent suggestion. Girija is indeed deep into astrology, mainly to find out how our ancient and the modern western predictive systems have evolved - kind of a research. But alas, she is very determined that this knowledge should not be used for monetary or egoistic pursuits. How do you like that! Gift of the gab? She likes to make other talk and observe and guess what their sign is : ))
Lots of cheers, friend......... Raja.
